For those of you who blog, and regularly comment on other peoples blogs etc, have you ever wondered why other commentators have a little avatar (photo) of themselves next to their comments, whilst the avatar next to your comment is either blank, a random pattern, or something else? This is why, and how you can also have your own customised avatar image. They are using Gravatar.
If you use Gravatar, any WordPress generated blog, or site using the WordPress platform will link to your Gravatar image. All you need to do, is to create an account and upload your chosen image. Then, next time you comment on someones blog, just make sure you are using the email address you have associated with your Gravatar or WordPress account, and your chosen image will appear next to your comment. Also, this applies if you are a blog author on a WordPress blog, or a site running on a WordPress platform. Go into your user profile, and make sure that your email is the same one that you have used for your Gravatar account.
It’s very easy, just follow the instructions: Gravatar.com
